The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Founded in Chicago in 1936, by Leo and Lillian Rivkin, Saf-T-Gard International, Inc. got its start as Latex Glove Company when the Rivkins purchased equipment from a balloon company to make waterproof, rubber-coated cotton gloves. Because of war-time pressures on Chicago industrial plants, Latex Glove Co. expanded as an industrial glove distributor, selling gloves to military equipment manufacturers.
The focus on occupational safety and health in the 1960s and 1970s lead to an increased emphasis on providing a full line of personal protective equipment, and in the early 1980s, the Voltgard® project was developed with the mission to grow the electrical testing and utility industry business. In 1989, the company changed its name to Saf-T-Gard International, Inc. to reflect its dedication to providing a complete line of safety products. Saf-T-Gard has grown significantly from its humble, two-person loft beginnings in 1936, spanning 4 generations of family and an 80,000+ square-foot facility, while maintaining its commitment to quality, value and service excellence.
Under contract 47QSWA23D009R, Saf-T-Gard is approved to supply the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) gloves, protective clothing, and dielectric testing services through the GSA Advantage Web site (www.gsaadvantage.gov). This contract can be used by U.S. federal government agencies through September 2028 and has a low minimum order level with additional discounts for orders more than $25,000.00.
